Tikal is a game of exploration, placement and wholesale, with a simple but deep tactic.

Each player is the leader of an expedition attempting to explore Tikal, one of the largest archaeological sites in South America, in search of the secret trails that lead to temples and treasures that have been hidden for nearly 1,000 years. Players send their teams of explorers into the jungle, discovering the terrain as they go.

Along the way you'll come across temples and treasures, and try to score victory points by occupying temples and holding on to treasures. You have a limited number of action points per turn to lead your team through the jungle, discover temples, find treasures and set up camps... So be careful, as other explorers will try to outdo you to get the benefits of new discoveries, Tikal is coveted and competition is fierce!

Although the mechanics are simple, it is a very tactical game: the order in which you play your actions will be decisive. The board will be built from the hexagonal tiles and resin temple pieces, and you will have to anticipate your opponents' decisions if you want your exploration team to be the best in all of Tikal.
