An investigative and horror game set in 18th century London, with the Cthulhu Mythos as the backdrop. You belong to the Bow Street Runners, the first police force in London, recently created to combat vice, crime, and the dark forces that threaten its streets.
It is the year 1749 and London is a city of vice, crime, and misery. Brothels are proliferating, crime has reached historic levels fueled by crushing poverty, and the Gin Craze is at its peak. There are starving beggar children, corrupt watchmen turning a blind eye to infractions, and dark creatures lurking in the alleys, summoned from beyond by those who have nothing left to lose.
The writer and chief magistrate Henry Fielding has joined forces with his brother John to form the city's first police force: the Bow Street Runners. The Fieldings have persuaded Parliament to finance their fight against crime, but they know there is something more behind all this: John Fielding's blind eyes can see where others cannot reach...
Players take on the role of the Bow Street Runners or civilian advisors who work closely with the fledgling police force, tasked with investigating the dark secrets behind the sordid law-breaking in Georgian London. Dark Streets includes everything you need to play. It uses Renaissance Deluxe: a simplified d100 system based on OpenQuest. Therefore, it will be familiar to anyone who has played Call of Cthulhu.

You will find detailed information about the life and streets of 18th century London, its people, organizations, and secret societies, which we have illustrated with engravings by authors of the time.
