It is a self-playable expansion that does not need other previous editions to be able to play.
All components (board, rules, solitaire mode, illustrations, markers) have been revised and renewed. It is a board game with a strong army configuration component, where the cards represent the units and various actions on the battlefield, and where you will fight in turns until the victory conditions are met.
Units will be deployed on a large board and customized during battle with additional equipment markers. Generals must take advantage of the resources offered by their nation and use the terrain to their advantage to defeat their enemies.
The game includes an immersive campaign book with historical scenarios that allow you to recreate the entire Pacific War: defend the island of the Philippines from Japanese attack, fight on Guadalcanal, land on Tarawa, enter the jungles of Saipan, reconquer the Philippines, survive on Iwo Jima and fight the bloody battles on Okinawa.

More information: This new version is fully compatible with the rest of the 2GM Tactics Series games, but you don't need them to play.
