Clank! Catacombs is a completely independent title but compatible with other games in the Clank! family. Designed by Paul Dennen (author of other Clank! titles and great games like Dune Imperium), it can be enjoyed by couples or groups of up to 4 players, ages 13 and up, in games that last about 70 minutes. With deck-building mechanics, tile placement, and a touch of luck, the game challenges us to collect artifacts and valuable treasures in the depths of the catacombs and escape alive.
Clank! Catacombs is based on the gameplay system of Clank! A Deck-Building Adventure, which can be enjoyed by players familiar with Clank! as well as those who have never played any title in the series. One of its main features (which sets it apart from the original Clank!) is that there is no central board, but a series of tiles that will be revealed throughout the game, forming the dungeon. This means that each game will be unique, as the placement of these tiles is random.
In Clank! Catacombs, players will face all kinds of monsters and special rooms, such as the famous crystal caves, which will wear out adventurers with their labyrinthine passages, or other never-before-seen spaces, such as haunted tiles, which will summon ghosts to attack all players when the dragon awakens. There will also be shrines, where players can rest and earn gold, or teleportation portals.
The Clank! game series has been attracting new players for years thanks to its different settings and slight variations in the base game mechanics. In this edition, each foray into the catacombs is unique, as a new dungeon is formed with the tiles. Additionally, you can play using the deck included in the box or combine it with cards from previous expansions of the game. Make your fortune and escape from the dragon in Clank! Catacombs!
