Odin's Banquet is a saga in the form of a board game. You will relive the cultural achievements, trading expeditions and plundering of those tribes we know today as Vikings.
When the northerners went on a raid, they used to say that they were leaving for a "Viking". Their Scandinavian ancestors, however, were much more than pirates. They were explorers and founders of provinces. Leif Eriksson is said to have been the first European in America, long before Columbus. In what is now known as Normandy, the invaders were not called Vikings but Normans. One of them is the famed "William the Conqueror" who invaded England in 1066. He managed to do what the king of Norway failed to do a few years earlier: conquer the English throne. The reason why the people of that time became strong sailors was because of the unfortunate agricultural situation. The shortage of wheat caused great distress.
In this game, you will plunder and explore new territories. You will also experience day-to-day activities: collecting goods to achieve a secure economic position in society. At the end of the game, the player with the most valuable possessions will be the winner.
