Grove is the citrus sequel to the award-winning solo game Orchard, which consists of 9 cards.
Grove is a solo card and dice game with gameplay lasting about 10 minutes, recommended for ages 14 and up.
In Grove, you have to cultivate your orchard and harvest as much fruit as you can by playing cards that overlap fruit trees with the same type of fruit.
This sequel includes lemon trees, orange trees, and lime trees, as well as a new wildcard element called "clearings". These empty spaces without trees, combined with a new scoring mechanic, offer more ways and opportunities to increase your harvest and create a greater variety of gameplay and strategies.
You will also encounter a mischievous squirrel, which can either help or hinder your fruit collection, as well as a wheelbarrow, which is useful if you have a bountiful harvest.
The backs of the cards feature recipe challenges with various scoring conditions and target scores. This provides a win/lose condition (as an alternative to "beat your score" in Orchard) for those who prefer it, and adds even more variety to the game.
