In 1973 the world was changing. Disruptive cultural movements were born from political and social events. But fashion was outdated. The Parisian designers dictated the trends and none of them seemed to reflect the spirit of the time. Everything changed when the French designers faced off against the Americans in the so-called Battle of Versailles. The goal: to raise funds to restore the deteriorating French palace.
In the fashion show, five American designers competed against five French designers. The American designers were considered more innovative and less traditional than the French designers. Welcome to the Battle of Versailles, the event that changed the history of fashion forever.
The Battle of Versailles is a card game for two players, where one will take on the role of France and the other the United States within the world of fashion.
They will face off in a duel where they must put their best dresses into play, in order to attract the celebrities of the moment or spread rumors that tarnish the opposing team. They must also contribute their grain of sand to the reconstruction of the Palace of Versailles.
The game has different victory conditions for each side: France tries to stay at the top of the industry, while the Americans must try to snatch away their prestige. Both teams fight to control the most influential celebrities of the moment.
