In the icy Runes Islands, the Vikings reign. These determined explorers navigate the frozen fjords, establish fertile settlements on rocky cliffs, and fight for the glory of their clans with blood and steel. They only bow down to their gods, and every Viking's dream is to serve their deity in the afterlife, in Valhalla.
In Tiny Epic Vikings, you will lead a clan of Vikings through three eras, hoping to claim the frozen lands as your own. You must play Viking cards, which represent the leaders of your clan, choosing the best builders, gatherers, explorers, and warriors. And you will have to raid and conquer the islands with settlers, build ships and temples to gain influence, as well as fight for the favor of the gods.
Designed by Scott Almes (the renowned creator of the Tiny Epic series and hits like Claim) and illustrated by Nikoletta Vaszi, Tiny Epic Vikings can be enjoyed solo or in groups of up to 4 players, ages 14 and up. With set collection and area control mechanics, players will compete over 15 rounds to score the highest possible points.
As usual in the titles of the series, the Tiny Epic Vikings box comes filled with components: a double-sided central board with a map of the fjords we will explore during the game, cards depicting gods from Norse mythology, clan cards, over 40 Viking cards, 18 favor cards, and a bunch of wooden figures, including our ships, temples, runes, villages, and Vikings of different colors. The box will be small, but worth its weight in gold!
On their turn, players will play cards from their hand that will allow them to carry out certain actions, such as fighting, sailing, building, or gathering. In this way, the different Viking clans will expand across the islands, which they will try to plunder and colonize. The cards also activate a series of runes, which grant the favor of the gods and bonus actions. These runes are also obtained by gaining control of the islands, so be wary of your neighbors' ambitions!
