Prince John's greed has gone too far. It is impossible for us merchants to continue earning a living with so many taxes. Now he has commissioned the greedy sheriff of Nottingham to search everyone who comes through the main gates for "contraband" - all the good stuff he wants to keep for himself. Luckily, you know the sheriff better than Prince John himself.
That slick, sneaky, greedy guy can be intimidating guarding the city gates but, let's face it, he doesn't have much trouble taking a good bribe to turn a blind eye. You've just arrived in Nottingham with your wares on market day and the only thing standing between you and your well-deserved winnings is the sheriff. All you have to do is work your way in by trickery, bribery or, perhaps, by telling the truth....
In Sheriff of Nottingham (2nd Edition), by turns, players take on the role of sheriff, who must decide which merchants' bags must be searched and which can pass. As a merchant, your goal is to convince the sheriff to let you through, using whatever means necessary. At the end of the game, the richest merchant wins.
This new edition of the original board game includes updated rules, as well as the expansions 6th Merchant, Black Market and Sheriff's Deputies.
