The shinkansen line began to be built in 1959 with the aim of having the fastest train of the time ready for the Tokyo Olympic Games in 1964.
In Shinkansen Zero Kei, the players, in the role of builders, will be in charge of building this historic railway line, as well as the stations that form it. In addition, they can help to get the Olympic venues ready for the Games.
The player who performs his task most efficiently wins the game. In each round of a game of this board game, you will build your own bullet train, each wagon card you add to your train will provide you with an action or an ability. These actions will allow you to build tracks and stations, to collaborate in the preparation of the Olympic venues and to obtain new wagon cards
The wagon cards are associated with the cities through which the line passes, and if you manage to build them in the correct order, you will be rewarded with victory points. After five rounds (corresponding to the five years it took to build the line), the player who has obtained the most victory points will be proclaimed the winner of the game.
