The houses are represented with a special card for their deck of cards and with each card in the deck, that player can perform different actions with the pawns. Each pawn belongs to one of the five aspects of drow society and each aspect results in different strategies and actions in the game, for example, minions with malice are more successful at assassinating your opponents' troops, while minions with ambition are the best at recruiting additional minions and promoting minions to their "inner circle", which is a special area that increases their value at the end of the game.
A central market always has new minions that can be recruited through influence, one of the two resources in the game. The purchased cards are placed in your discard pile and will be shuffled to form your deck again along with the other cards in your discard pile when needed. The other resource is power, which allows you to place troops on the game board, expand your forces across the Antipodean map, manipulate what happens in the city, and assassinate enemy troops.
Players earn points by controlling sites, hiring henchmen, promoting minions to their circle, and assassinating enemy troops. Are you ready to defeat your opponents in a strategic, no-holds-barred battle with Tyrants of the Underdark?
