You are in rustic, pre-modern Tuscany, where you have just inherited a small vineyard. You have in your possession some plots of land, an old winery, a warehouse, 3 workers... and a dream: to build the largest winery in Italy!
Your job will be to distribute your Workers and valuable visitors to complete a series of tasks throughout the year. In a Vineyard, each Season is different, so the Workers will have to deal with different tasks in Winter and in Summer. Competition in these tasks is fierce and often the first Worker to complete each task will have an advantage over the rest.
Luckily for the Players, people love to visit the Vineyards, and some of these Visitors offer their help while they are visiting, as long as you assign them a Worker to tell them how to do things. The visits (in the form of Letters), are short but very helpful. Through your Workers and Visitors, you can expand your Vineyard by building structures, planting vines and filling wine orders, while working towards your goal of becoming the most successful Winery in all of Tuscany.
Viticulture Essential Edition is a strategic game based on worker placement that allows Players to create their own Vineyard anywhere, with just a table and in the company of good friends. This Edition is a more robust version that combines the 2nd edition of Viticulture with some elements of the Tuscany Expansion (Mom and Pop Cards, Properties, new and redesigned Visitors and an Automa for solo games), and in which the designer Uwe Rosenberg has collaborated.
