Delivering mail six days a week, even when the weather was especially bad, wasn't an easy job, but Stella loved knowing she was helping people stay connected. But one day, she began to find the letters from Kingsport, drawing her attention to arcane mysteries.
It was a call she decided not to ignore, but to follow. Stella Clark is used to failure, but she is also determined to look beyond it. Like Stella, if you fail a skill test, you can take an additional action during your turn that round, giving you another chance to keep moving forward and prove all those people wrong.
Like Stella herself, this starting deck is full of surprises, with cards that can bring you advantages even when you stumble. For example, Brothers Grimm's Fairy Tales allows you to heal 1 point of horror to an investigator in your Place when they fail a skill test.
Failure also gives you the opportunity to fall back on Grit your teeth and improve all your skills for the rest of the round, something that will no doubt come in handy with the additional action you'll get with Stella's ability.
Whatever campaign you are playing, you will be gaining more experience and you may find it necessary for Stella to have other ways to finish off the monsters that get in her way. In that case it wouldn't be a bad idea to get your hands on an .18 Derringer. This solvent little gun deals considerable damage, and if you ever fail your test, you reload the spent ammo and boost your combat for the next attack! Stella Clark can also invest in Wits, a solid possibility to consider if you want to decrease the difficulty of your future actions in exchange for increasing the difficulty of preceding actions.
